Raymond was appointed to the editorial board of the Irish Historic Towns Atlas in 1994, was chairman of the board from 2016–2021 and was co-author of the atlases of Belfast and Carlingford. Beyond this, his significant contribution to the Atlas programme reached far and wide. It is with great fondness that we remember his intellect, vision and friendship and our thoughts are with his wife Bernadette Cunningham.
