Launch of new Library catalogue

To make the Library’s unique and distinct collections more accessible and searchable, we have moved our existing catalogue records to a new Library catalogue

This new international standards-based library management system combines all the records from our original five catalogues (Main, Periodicals, Photographs, Manuscripts and Prints & Drawings) into one easily searchable interface.

To learn more about how to use our new catalogue, please read our Top 3 Search Tips below.

Tip 1. Keyword Search

From the new Library Catalogue homepage you can keyword search across all five of our original catalogues at once. You can do this by selecting “All Catalogues” from the drop-down menu. If you wish to search in one of the original catalogues, just click the down arrow on the drop-down menu and select the desired catalogue.

Tip 2. Advanced Search

If you wish to refine your results, you can use the “Advanced Search” function. This will allow you to search by type of item, date range, title, author and many more.

Tip 3. Photographs

The Library holds a large collection of photographs, but before they can be made available through the new Library Catalogue, further cleaning of the related data is required. This means our photograph records will initially be suppressed from public view. However, they are still available for consultation, to enquire about the photograph collections please contact library@ria.ie.

If you have any queries or questions about how to use our new Library Catalogue, please feel free to ask a member of our Library Staff or email library@ria.ie
