Call for nominations: Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
Nominations are invited for a new EASAC-FEAM interdisciplinary and international Working Group, on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.
The European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) is inviting suitably qualified nominations from member academies for a new interdisciplinary and international Working Group, focused on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare in collaboration with FEAM (Federation of European Academies of Medicine).
The project will explore how the added benefit of AI‐incorporated health products/services can be evaluated for adoption into healthcare use. Areas under consideration will include evidence measurement, randomised clinical trials, and health systems research.
The project will
- determine where new guidance or regulation is desirable taking into account existing regulation and the new revised EU regulations on medical devices, and in vitro diagnostics, and
- make recommendations on new regulation currently in development (e.g. AI Framework, European Health Data Space) or revision (e.g. Product Liability Directive).
The Royal Irish Academy is the national member of EASAC. Contact Sinéad Riordan, Head of Policy and International Relations (s.riordan@ria.ie) for additional information on the application process by 18 June 2024.
