Watch the Kathleen Lonsdale RIA Chemistry Prize 2024

The Royal Irish Academy was delighted to present the 2024 Kathleen Lonsdale RIA Chemistry Prize to Dr Billy McCarthy for his PhD thesis, ‘Understanding the Entry, Partition, and Fate of Chlorates in Dairy Processes’.

Dr Billy McCarthy was awarded the prize in a ceremony in the Royal Irish Academy on 18 June 2024. The ceremony was chaired by the Royal Irish Academy President, Professor Pat Guiry, with speeches from Dr Hugh Fay, Henkel Ireland, and Dr Niamh O’Boyle, a member of the assessment panel. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Dr Billy McCarthy about his prize winning research.
