Public Call: Damon Berry, Lecturer and Researcher
Grangegorman Histories issued a public call in July 2023 inviting applicants to contribute to the uncovering, cataloguing and commemorating of the History of the Grangegorman site. The five successful awardees have received funding to develop their work through research and creative endeavors. Here we’re profiling the work of Lecturer and Researcher, Damon Berry.
About the project
Damon Berry will showcase points of special interest from the past and future of the site through a series of smart posts throughout the site. Wooden posts will conveniently display QR codes allowing phone users to directly access and browse multimedia resources related to the space they are in. Visitors to Grangegorman will be able to learn the histories of the site on a self-guided tour, or through special guided tours.
About the researcher
Damon Berry is a lecturer in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the lead researcher of the ‘Towards people-orientated technology’ research group. His research combines health and ‘smart’ responsive spaces, to create more accessible and involving public spaces. Damon is also the leader of STEM Ensemble, a TU Dublin-based group of volunteer creators, engineers and scientists who develop and exhibit engaging STEM-related activities.
