Our Logo
The logotype combines the RIA symbol with the Irish and English words: Acadamh Ríoga na hÉireann; Royal Irish Academy. The logo should never be altered in any way. Please ensure that appropriate master artwork is acquired from the logo page on our website, the Communications department or from the graphic designer when reproducing the logo.
The RIA logo should always appear in full: Symbol and text.
It should be legible, clear, and reproduced to the highest standards. Two colour options should be adhered to: black and white.
Size and clearspace
The minimum size the logotype should be used at is 40 pixels for digital and 10mm for print.
When using the logotype at smaller sizes, 40 to 80 pixels and 9 to 18 mm, please use the small logo version.
Clearspace is the area around the logo used to protect its legibility. The space is equal to half of the diameter of the symbol circle.
Co-branding
The examples provided illustrate various interactions between the RIA logo and different brands. All logos should appear visually equal in size. Please ensure that the RIA logo is not altered in any way and that it appears in correct (equal) proportion to partner logos.
When creating a logo partnership strip, ensure the logos use a minimum of the ‘clearspace’ between each logo— that is 50% of the size of the circle. The ideal space to use is the diameter of the circle. See examples opposite.
All material with RIA branding should be sent to the Royal Irish Academy Communications Team for approval before print or digital dissemination by email communications@ria.ie. Please also contact the Communications Team if you have any queries on our branding.
