The Royal Irish Academy’s Human Resources Department is committed to providing the highest level of service to the Academy, its staff and the public, through its role in attracting, retaining and motivating staff of the highest calibre. All positions in the RIA are advertised on our Website, on the Public Jobs website and through our social media channels. Applications are submitted directly by email in accordance with the guidelines in the advertised job. Applicants will be shortlisted based on information provided in their application.

Failure to fulfil the application requisites will deem the application invalid. Please ensure a valid, monitored email address is used. The email address will be used to acknowledge receipt of the application and as the main form of contact to liaise with applicants.

Access Officer

The Access Officer is responsible for providing, arranging or coordinating assistance to persons with disabilities who wish to access the services provided by RIA. The Access Officer also acts as a point of contact for persons with disabilities who wish to access such services.

Sustainability

The Royal Irish Academy is committed to sustainability and climate action. As a public body the Academy must meet the Public Sector Climate Action Mandate. The Academy is committed to not just meeting but going beyond its obligations. The Royal Irish Academy has also pledged to be a Net Zero greenhouse gas emitting organisation by 2050 along with several sister academies. The Academy strives to take into account best-practice recommendations on climate action from similar contexts and apply these across the organisation. Academy staff receive training on sustainability issues and climate action and are invited to share ideas for initiatives. 

The Royal Irish Academy has established a staff Green Team made up of staff members from many departments and grades. The Green Team is a driver of sustainability within the organisation. The Green Team organises staff awareness events, coordinates staff action on climate issues and contributes to the Academy’s reporting.
